There is a soup for all seasons. In the winter soup warms up. In the summer it provides a light meal. It is easy to substitute ingredients for your picky eaters or special dietary needs. Soup can be decadent or healthy. It makes your kitchen smell homey. It only takes one pot. It can be simple or garnished. There something about scraping up the last bit with a crusty piece of bread. Having homemade soup means someone cares about you. In honor of National Homemade Soup Day (Feb 4th) I have compiled a list of some of my favorite soup recipes and recipes from my foodie friends. And they are all great for winter. Please tell us your favorite soup recipe.
