Taking a minute this morning to highlight a “stand out” Willamette Valley winery – Lenné Estate.
There is something in the water (or lack of) and more likely in the dirt at this vineyard site in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA.
It has been almost a year since I first had the privilege to taste with owner/winemaker Steve Lutz. I have a tactile memory of the cocoa texture of his wines and the elegant fruit presented by his restrained style.
Last April, Lutz was renovating his tasting room so we tasted outside. Recently I visited the newly polished and shined tasting room complete with a glassed bar filled with layers of the “sorry soil” at Lenné.
A great space inside and visitors can still taste outside on the patio. And so they should, the views are great. Don’t miss my review on American Winery Guide.
